The Local Interagency Planning Team Agreement states that all parties involved will establish a partnership and agree to work cooperatively for safer schools, and a safer community.
19 different agencies met here at the Laurens County Court Tuesday. A representative from each agency signed this agreement putting the organization into effect.
InterAgency Co-Chair Tara Rattfield says, "This is really to kick off the interagency team and to start with the new procedures that have been implemented. We're really looking forward to this."
Among the agencies involved are the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Family and Children Services, the Laurens County Sheriff's Department, Dublin Police Department, and County and City Schools.
Dublin Judicial Court Juvenile Judge William L. Tribble says pulling resources together is key.
"If a child needs mental health services for example, the court can make that referral, and get that child services. Then that childs life can be better."
Judge Tribble says he hopes to see changes in the children and families the InterAgency works

McCanless said he approached Hart about the commission considering The Telegraph property on Broadway as a potential courthouse location. Since the newspaper’s production operations have moved to Columbus, much of the 170,000-square-foot building remains empty and expensive to maintain, he said. Full Story
White, Erickson: Shrink Macon's City Council
Two Macon City Council members are saying, again, that it's time to cut the council's size.
In a separate resolution, Erick Erickson and Nancy White also propose ending Macon's partisan city elections, the only ones in the state.
Erickson said both resolutions were submitted to the council Friday and would be considered by the council's Ordinance and Resolution Committee Monday. Previous efforts have died due to a lack of support, either among council members or in the state legislative delegation.
They're suggesting cutting the council from 15 to 11 members by removing all of the citywide Post One seats except one. Full Story
